The Timberson Legacy: Chapter 13

Screenshot-1078 Alice was finishing her life story. She wanted to be remembered for future generations.

“Besides, I’ll have to write down some important recipes if you want to have tasty food,” she’d tell me.

Screenshot-1080

Cassie went to Mike Lobos’ house, and they began to talk about art. He was often sitting down and didn’t offer her a seat, and he was impolite. Cassie texted Candace that he was “dreemi but a jrk”. Candace texted her back, saying there was an emergency at the house. With that as an excuse, she came running back home.

Screenshot-1082 “Oh my gosh! You didn't tell me there was a FIRE going on!” Cassie yelled as she smelled smoke.

“Would it matter?!” Candace yelled back.

“Girls, stop fighting and call the firefighters,” I yelled over both of them.Screenshot-1083 Luckily, I was brave enough to extinguish the flames, and nobody was hurt. Alice and Corey then went to bed after a long day. The firefighters came, unfortunately, and they noticed something.

“Hey, you look familiar,” one of the firefighters said, “Were you from the police burning from ..?”

“No, why would you say such a thing?” Amanda answered, looking away, “My own mother was a criminal, it was horrible…”

“Oh boy, not another sob story!” the other firefighter said, “Let’s go!”

“Amanda, I’m so sorry,” Billy said,“ I feel awful for the childhood you lost.”

“Oh, it’s okay,” she said,

Amanda smiled when they left. Too bad that smile wouldn’t last through the night.

Screenshot-1085 “I think I heard Alice scream,” Amanda said to herself. She made the bed, and quickly went to look.

Turns out Alice died. The Grim Reaper took her before anyone noticed. Rest in Peace, Alice.

Screenshot-1086 Cassie also felt awful, especially because she was closer to her grandparents.

Screenshot-1087 I also felt awful. My mom worked a lot for Bijou, Barbie, and I, so that we could have a good house, and she worked hard to make money. Now, all that hard work went to waste.

Screenshot-1088 Amanda painted a portrait of Billy quickly, in memory of Alice, so once Billy dies, the two could be together forever.

Screenshot-1092 It seems that the entire house couldn’t function without Alice.

Screenshot-1094 To try to reunite with my sisters, I invited them over for a funeral for her.

Screenshot-1096 The whole house was uncomfortable with the topic of the Timberson matriarch dying.

Screenshot-1097

But everyone consoled each other. It was like one giant therapy session.

Screenshot-1098

After the funeral, Billy decided to read Alice’s obituary. He read it outside, so that way he could cry alone. Afterwards, he asked Amanda for a favor.

Screenshot-1100 “Could you construct a room downstairs as a cemetery type place? So Alice’s memory could live on?”

“Yeah, sure. I’ll put your painting next to hers so you two could be together.”

Screenshot-1102 After Alice’s death, Cassie grew closer to the rest of the family. She began to watch sports games with her Aunt Barbie, and she told us about them.

Screenshot-1105 She began to sit with Candace on the bus. Together, they insulted the bus driver.

Screenshot-1106 On the inside, Billy was crying. Weeks after Alice died, he still couldn’t get over it. She was the only thing on his mind.

Screenshot-1109 He luckily could tell Cassie about how he felt. They still connected really well, while others were just playing computer games.

Screenshot-1115 “Please, please, come back,” Cassie one day cried, “You could even visit us for a day. We miss you.”

The next day, I heard something in the kitchen. It was opening and closing cabinets, as if it were looking for something. I got worried. What if it’s a burglar? What if it’s one of Amanda’s accomplices? Will Billy have to learn that my wife’s a criminal? How would he react? What if it wasn’t a burglar? What if it was worse? What if it started a fire too big to stop? I decided to creep downstairs. After all, I was brave. And I had a family to protect.

Screenshot-1119The noise wasn’t coming from a burglar, or pests- it was from Alice! I tried to greet her, but she didn’t notice me. She just stared blankly in my direction, as if she didn’t know who I was. She then headed outside.

Screenshot-1120Cassie overheard the noise, and she must’ve seen a figure from her window. She came rushing downstairs, then outside. She practically jumped for joy when she saw Alice. She wanted to hug her, but unfortunately, Alice wasn’t being herself.

Screenshot-1121Cassie stood there, speechless, while Alice just disappeared. Poor girl was confused. She probably had no idea what just had happened. Why didn’t Alice notice her? I wish I could answer that. Why didn’t she notice me? Did she forget about everything that happened?

Screenshot-1123 “Cassie? I have to tell you something,” Alice told Cassie the next morning.

“Is it an explanation to why the book shelf’s gray and deformed?” Cassie asked.

If you keep that up, I’ll drag your hunger to the left, if you know what I mean….

“Who said that?” Cassie said, startled.

“What? No. I’m just going to announce this. I’m a criminal. My job late at night isn’t something honorable like a doctor or a police officer. It’s downright low. But that’s who I am.”

“Oh. Okay,” Cassie shrugged.

“What? You’re okay with this?” Amanda was shocked. Cassie wasn’t really damaged by the fact that her mom kept a secret from her for 15 years.

“Well, I learned to accept people,” Cassie said, “Crime isn’t anything big. Besides, Vaughn’s mom is your boss, and Vaughn accidently told Candace that.”

“Oh, well, this is… awkward,” Amanda blushed, “Go play outside or go visit the art museum. It’ll take your mind off of the voice you keep on hearing.”

“But he’s real!!” Cassie said.

“See? This is what I mean. Go out. Now.”

Screenshot-1127Corey was beginning to worry us. He just liked to fish and play with the sprinklers all day. He seemed to have withdrawn from his friends. This was not good. What if he’s like this as an adult? He’ll be the laughing stock of Riverview.

Screenshot-1130That night, as I was gardening, I saw Billy walk out of the cemetery. I wonder why he went all the way downstairs. We’ve all been seeing Alice pop in and out around the house for minutes, but I think he wanted to see the old Alice.

Screenshot-1131 Yes, I gave them a new room. They needed a patio-type of place.

“So, son, how’s school? Any clubs this year?” I asked him one day, while we were both getting midnight snacks.

“Yeah! Of course! Angler’s Anonymous, Fans of Fishing, The Gills Guild, Swimming Society, and the Friends of Fins!” This was the first time I saw him genuinely interested in something.

“Oh, well, that’s…. interesting. Anything else? Like the Future Doctors of Riverview?” I crossed my fingers under the table.

“Nah, medical stuff’s boring,” he said.

My son’s a fisherman. Where did I go wrong? This is not the kind of stuff to mention at high school reunions. What if he decides to live out in the streets? What if he drowns? There’s no way to convince him out of this.

The Timberson Legacy: Chapter 12

Last time, the kids grew up, Cassie got punished from Brighton, and tension rose in the house. Will things stay the same?

Screenshot-993 Candace started meeting some guys. The boy in this picture is named Vaughn Lobos.

Screenshot-994They fell in love quickly. Would it last?

Screenshot-996They often danced awkwardly in the living room. Vaughn didn’t want to make a bad impression, especially if Alice, Billy, Amanda, and I usually spent our time there(Seriously, Candace and Vaughn could’ve gone out).

Screenshot-997Corey would often play with the sprinkler. He wasn’t really interested in girls, though he started high school, too.

Screenshot-999 Sometimes he’d go to the bar and try to invite his classmates, but they often had plans. He felt like everyone in his class was dating except him.

Screenshot-1000 Cassie probably felt that way, too. At first, she didn’t mind Vaughn. He would probably go away after a while, she thought. But then she saw how Vaughn got along with Alice, and she began to get worried.

Screenshot-1001 One day, Corey finally went on a date with a girl from his class.

“Finally! You’re going out!” I told him.

Once he left to go to the bar, I told the girls.

“Cassie, is dad talking about the girl with the bad hair and the weird leather jacket?” Candace asked.

“I think so,” Cassie said, while painting, “They were talking with each other at the end of the day. He must like her personality, because –”

“- she’s an outcast, her hair’s ugly, she wears that one jacket with everything, and she’s a slob,” Candace finished for her. “Well, her last name is Wolfe, and Corey DOES love the outdoors…” Candace went on.

Yikes. My son’s dating the apparent outcast, and my two twin daughters are ripping apart a girl who’s already a weirdo.

“Hey, be nice, she’s probably um, smart or nice or something?” I tried to defend this girl.

When Corey came back, the only thing he told me was his aunt Barbie was there. Nothing else.

Screenshot-1003 The next day, mom planned a party at the Waterhole Juice Bar. She invited Carrie and Chelsea(Who were wearing the same exact hairstyle), Lonnie, and Bijou. Cassie has a good time with everyone, while Candace just stayed inside with Vaughn.

Screenshot-1006 Looks like their romance was more than a week. Does this mean Cassie was outside to avoid the romance issue?

Screenshot-1009 Amanda couldn’t come, because she had work, and then she got arrested again. But she came back with “gifts” from the police station.

Screenshot-1011 Candace and Corey hung out on the playground a lot at the weekends. Where was Cassie?

Screenshot-1017Talking to her grandpa about art. They usually talked about painting techniques and stuff like that. Once, I overheard Billy telling Cassie to go outside and try to befriend Candace and Corey.

“But grandpa, they don’t like me!”

“Nonsense. Besides, they’re your family, they have to put up with you.”

Screenshot-1014Once she went on the jungle gym, Candace and Corey both left. I could tell she was feeling awkward.

“Ugh! This is exactly what I was worried about.” Cassie complained. I was worried. Why was the only thing my twin daughters could bond over gossiping?

Screenshot-1020

“I love the night. I feel like I’m the moon, while everybody else is having fun on Earth.” Cassie said to Alice.

“Well, the moon’s important too. You never heard about anyone making a big deal about taking the first steps on Earth, have you?” Alice said. She tried making Cassie feel better.

“Thanks grandma! I don’t know what I’d do without you!” Cassie said, smiling. I was happy Alice kept her away from depression.Screenshot-1022

“Relationships are like clouds. They look cool and are pretty for a while, but get boring if they stay too long.” Vaughn started to tell Candace.

“Yes, but relationships are also like the sun. They always stay with you. Right? Right??” Candace protested. Vaughn was several years older than her, so he wanted to take a break. But Candace protested, because this was her first real relationship. She’d sink way down on the social pyramid if her boyfriend left her.Screenshot-1023But they stopped talking. Cassie came, because she left her notebook in the jungle gym. There was no way Candace would ever tell Cassie her relationship’s secret.

Screenshot-1025

Cassie tried talking to her relatives about how Candace excluded her, but nobody listened.

“Carrie, can you help me out with a sister problem?” Cassie asked her cousin.

“Well… you two are like day and night. So I’m not so sure if I can help, sorry.” Carrie didn’t really help at all.

Screenshot-1026 She couldn’t really get help from her mom, who spent her free time training Candace. It felt like she only had her grandparents to talk to.

Screenshot-1029 “You know, I think we should take a break… from us,” Candace was telling Vaughn. Vaughn seemed confused. How could he be the one to get dumped?

Screenshot-1028 “You can’t dump me!” he yelled at her.

“Well, just leave!” she said.

Screenshot-1033 The next day, Candace sat by herself on the bus. She still felt bad after last night.

Screenshot-1034 “They broke up for nothing,” Corey whispered to Cassie,“ She just wanted a break.”

“She’s the only person who would break up with Vaughn Lobos, the captain of the Simball team.”

“Hey! Guys! I could hear you! We’re the only ones on the bus!” Candace yelled.

Screenshot-1036 Meanwhile, back at home, Mom and Dad still didn’t know about Amanda’s secret.

“So, you like art too, right? That’s cool. Why are you dressed like a thief?”

“Oh, it’s for, um, a, you know, a costume party. From last night,” Amanda tried to explain.

Screenshot-1037

“Vaughn! I’m sorry. I never should’ve broken up with you. Please forgive me!” Candace shouted.

Vaughn gave her the silent treatment.Screenshot-1040But somehow, Candace managed to drag him home that night. Cassie was just ‘doing her homework’, but she really was just watching the two quarrel.

Screenshot-1041 “Whoo! Yeah! Let’s party!” Candace said.

Is there anything you’d like to tell us?Screenshot-1042 Oh, and here’s Corey’s lifetime wish. He had the aquarium one. All he did was fish, put them upstairs, and killed them. Then Amanda had to clean it up. :P

Screenshot-1047

Biiiiirthday time.

Screenshot-1048

Nobody even remembered my birthday. Yeah, sure, I just turned into an adult, but still, I think it would be more important than, say, talking about art.

Screenshot-1049 Amanda still liked to paint, whenever she wasn’t robbing, but it’s not like she forgot about her career.

Screenshot-1052 It’s amazing my parents never found out, especially seeing that she got arrested frequently.

Screenshot-1054 “You know, Vaughn, I think this break isn’t working,” Candace told him, “let’s get back together.”

Screenshot-1055 “What if you go on another break?” Vaughn asked. He still wasn’t over the heartbreak.

Screenshot-1057 “We were going through some problems then. Now, I’m older and more mature. We’re soulmates!” Candace said in a flirtatious tone.Screenshot-1058

And as you could see, the two were back together. Screenshot-1061 “EW! IS THAT A PIMPLE! HOW GROSS! ICK!” Candace started using more makeup and other cosmetics, so as a result, she became more dependant on them. And if she didn’t use them for one day, her face would look bad. Screenshot-1066 Hi Barbie/Bijou/Timberson relative! :D But yeah, they all look alike. I can’t even tell them apart. o.OScreenshot-1068 Candace and Vaughn spent all of their weekends together. They. Were. In. Love.

Screenshot-1069

They talked about their futures. Vaughn showed Candace there was more to life than being a non-stop partier. Screenshot-1072 And look! They even left for curfew early! Screenshot-1073 “Oh, hey Mom… what’s with the outfit?” Candace asked Amanda when she came home from her date.

“Uh… it’s just for a community children’s theater thing, you know, the ones nobody goes too.” Amanda said. She had been practicing her lies so much that now her excuses were believable.

“Oh, that’s so nice of you! Why won’t we all go out to watch you?” Candace asked. Amanda hadn’t seen that one coming.

“Because… it’s a long ride… it’s in Sunset Valley.” Amanda stuttered.

“Isn’t it a community play? As in Riverview?” Candace replied. She seemed to be good at breaking down Amanda, even if it was unintentional.

“Hey, I never said it was for our community.” Amanda said. She tried passing by, but Candace was good at prying out information.

“Hey Mom! I think I know your secret! You are a c-” Candace smirked.

“Alright, alright… I’m a thief. I want to become a master thief, since I’ve always been a kleptomaniac. That’s why I’m always out, late at night. It’s nothing to feel embarrassed about. My job brings food to the table. You should all be happy.” Amanda confessed.

“Wait… what? I was just gonna say you were a community play actress for other towns, and you go under the name of ‘Mandy Simovitch’ because of how low quality they are. Besides, Daddy’s a surgeon, and Grandma and Grandpa get pension.” Candace blurted out.

“Oh… well, um, this is awkward. Anyway, I gotta go. I’m gonna be late.” Amanda said, awkwardly.

Wow, this was a long update.
