“Hey, Mom. I’m a Young Adult now! Yay! I wanna move out. I feel like I need to be less dependent on the family. I’ll still visit a lot, though. And I’ll record your show every night. So it’ll be like I never moved out!” Devon told Cassie later that night.
“Um…. okay? Don’t beat yourself up over it. You could live at home for a few days or weeks, if you have to, son.” Cassie replied, startled. She didn’t notice how quickly Devon grew up. “Aw, Mom! I’m gonna miss you all so much! It’s gonna be weird, living by myself. I promise I won’t screw up!” Devon said, hugging Cassie. “I could tour the world! Or live anywhere I want! I could start my own Timberson clan, somewhere else. Maybe in Champs Le Sims…” Devon said.
Hey, kid, just because your family is rich, doesn’t mean mine is. I don’t have World Adventures so you’re stuck in Riverview. :P
“Who said that? Huh?” Devon seemed confused.
Uh, never mind.
So Devon moved out the next morning.
“Bye son! I’ll miss you! Call once you get there! Don’t miss your flight!” Cassie seemed nervous about her son moving out. But, I realized one thing…
There was one free slot in the house! I quickly dialed Erich’s number and decided to try to marry him. “So, Erich. There’s a free slot in my house…” I told him, awkwardly. We had been going out for a while now, but I didn’t know how to make the next move on him. Engagement? Marriage? Eloping? Moving in? Children? Or nothing? I got invites to housewarming parties, engagement parties, and even a wedding or two for all of my former classmates, and I was still just living at home, with just a boyfriend. No wedding, ring, or new roommate.
“Really? That’s a coincidence. There’s a free slot in my house, too.” Erich said. Uh oh. What if he wanted me to become his wife? Like move in with them? My family raised me to have a family tradition type of thing, to live at home and have my family there, and stuff, and I wasn’t gonna throw years of tradition out the window. So, I decided to take a risk… “Erich, will you marry me? I don’t wanna wait any longer, to know I’m going to spend the rest of my life with you. I’ve been waiting a while now to tell you.” I said. Goodness. I need more charisma. I still sound like an awkward preteen Sim. He said no. I tried making things better with a kiss, but apparently, marriage wasn’t in our future. “Mom! Erich… rejected me! He didn’t want to marry me.” I said, sobbing to my mother that night in the gym. “Aww! Feel better, honey! He’s wrong for not wanting to marry you!” Candace said, comforting me.
And here’s me, after a few promotions. I had some time to focus on my career, after the Erich incident. I didn’t want to become one of those celebrity Sim-kids which lived off of their parents.
A few days later, I decided to invite Erich again. Maybe this time, he’d say yes.
“Erich, please. I want to marry you. I want to wake up to your smile, and say good night to it to. I want to spend my days and my nights, my good and bad days with you, and I want to have a family with you…” I told him. I honestly hoped he’d say yes.
“Daria….” He said.
“Yes?” I responded. He said my name. Is that a yes or a no? “Of course!” he said.
A couple days later, the big wedding day came up. We rented out the gazebo.
We greeted our guests and later danced. And yes, Lorena is on the left.
Here we are, exchanging rings.
The wedding turned out to be a success. The guests had a great time together, the food was good, and most importantly, Erich and I were together.
Today, Daria and Erich got married,
and I’m really close to being a Grandma.
Soon pregnancy books will be the only thing she will read,
And the new baby will make us go “Aw!”.
I overheard Mom writing this song while I was brushing my teeth. I hope she doesn’t actually like, send it to her record label. It would be weird, considering I work in the same building… And this is how he looks after a makeover. Don’t worry, his eyes are open. :P
He’s a party animal, so he dances a lot. And look who came to visit her Great-Grandson-in-Law! :o Erich wanted to become the MVP of his sports team, so he worked out a lot.
He also went jogging a lot. I played my guitar a lot. I don’t understand why someone who wants to work in a symphonic career would need a guitar, but whatever. And with all my guitar playing, I got another promotion.
I decided to get a more mature look, though. I barely slept. Between my job, my guitar playing, and the garden, I would be lucky to get a power nap. Oh, and here’s Daphne. She was still snobby. She misses attention. And she dreams about money. What a great way to meet your in-laws, right?
“Mom, aren’t I as pretty as a jewel?” I overheard Daphne tell Cassie.
“Yes, sweetie, you are. Some day, you’ll notice that inner beauty is as important as outer beauty.” Cassie replied. I was happy someone started taking care of her. She was like, what, 12? But she already started talking about the stock market, dating, and diets. I guess that’s what happens when you let your kids play dress up too much…
“Hey, where’d everybody go?” Daphne thought to herself.
The celebrations continued when the room was populated.
Makeover, right?
Definitely.
Speaking of birthdays, Nikolas was going to grow old. Looks like the sparkles were contagious.
Daphne was out a lot. She was talking and flirting with everyone! I’m glad that I’m already in a relationship- that girl seemed to have a relationship with any single guy who wasn’t related to her.
Her mom usually tried to talk some sense into her.
“You’re barely 13! Why are you already spouse hunting?!?”
“Spouse hunting?!? Where’d you hear that from? A parenting book?” She had a good point.
“No, that’s ridiculous…” Aunt Cassie stuttered, “I heard it on my news segment.” That didn’t really help her cause to sound cool.
“Well, who said I was looking for a soul mate?” Daphne asked her. “Maybe I’m just looking for a guy to hang out with.”
“Pshh, not in that wardrobe,” Aunt Cassie said.
“Whatever!” Daphne yelled while she stomped out of the room. Despite their typical ‘arguments’, they still were close.
I loved the “Got Garden” channel. Whenever I wanted to garden, but I didn’t want to get messy, I’d just watch.
And this was a night I didn’t want to get dirt in my bed.
“Hey, Aunt Candace? Could I trust you with a personal topic?”
“Yeah, sure. But don’t tell Cass you’re not going to her for advice. She’ll flip.”
“Okay. In high school, did you go to wild teen parties, with bars and Party Animals and Great Kissers and –?”
“Didn’t you just turn thirteen? I’m a rock star and I haven’t even gone to those kinds of parties!”
Hey, give me a break, Late Night still hasn’t been released.
“Did you hear that?”
“Uh, yeah, it was a voice, telling you not to go to these parties. Right?”
Uh, sure.
“But yeah, don’t go to those parties. You don’t need to get the ‘party girl’ rep. You’ll get no respect.” Candace said.
“What?! That’s awesome! I didn’t even think of my reputation! It’s like another reason to go to parties!” Daphne shouted. Wow. Did she really just say that to an adult?
Here she is after another makeover. The hair from before always looks glitchy after a few days. :/ Daphne went over to Devon’s house. He got a job in the military, and threw out all his other aspirations.
I stayed in touch with Grandma Amanda. She told me how her new ghost life was.
Grandpa Brighton also talked with his relatives. He’d usually fall asleep in the day, so he could stay up all night talking with his family.
“Daphne, I got a call from your teacher. She said you didn't show up today… or yesterday… or most of this week, actually. You won’t get out of middle school if you keep cutting, honey.” Cassie said.
“Uh, that’s ridiculous! I was helping out at the… place, with the… uh, kids, and the, you know, charity or something?” Daphne stuttered, as she tried to think of a way to get out of trouble.
“You mean the orphanage?” Cassie replied.
“Yeah, exactly!” Daphne shouted.
“Well, I know you weren’t there. Do you want to know how?” Cassie asked.
“Uh, I was there! You could ask the woman, err, guy, or whatever in charge, there.” Daphne said.
“Really? Because we had a volunteer-special on our show, and we went to the orphanage all week, and you weren’t there. At all! So you lie to me and your teacher and now you don’t watch my show?” Cassie exclaimed. Wow, she was getting tough. Meanwhile, in the productive part of the family, Erich was getting promotions. I didn’t really pay attention to what, to be honest, but hey, he still was bringing home Simoleons. I finally snapped at Nikolas for not taking care of Daphne enough.
“You’re such a workaholic! Your daughter’s going to parties night and day and she never goes to school, and Cassie's stressing her butt out trying to discipline her and you’re just working? Retire already! Your glory days are long gone!” I can’t believe I told him off. “Yeah! Seriously! Maybe if you raised her right and said good night to her, not your laptop every night, this wouldn’t happen!” Candace joined in. What a great mother-daughter moment. Nikolas was clearly not pleased. “Oh yeah? Well at least I have a real job, and I don’t live to please and entertain others, like you two! Seriously! Grow up!” Nikolas defended himself.
“Take that back! How dare you embarrass me like that in front of my daughter and father! At least we can perform on stage! And at least I don’t dye my hair, bottle-brunette!” Candace screamed.
Wow, I never saw this side of Mom before.
Meanwhile, Erich danced his way throughout the fight. Dad found Mom at the bar again, drinking her way through the anger.
“Honey, drinking won’t solve all your problems.” Vaughn lectured.
“I know… but it seems to help ease the pain…” Candace responded. Looks like I know where Daphne got her lame excuses from.
“Ugh, I know! And then he told me… ugh, I gotta go. Someone is in the room.” Candace said on the phone.
“When you mess with my daughter and granddaughter, you mess with me. I overheard your little fight from before. So next time you try to fight with someone, don’t pick my girls. Because if you’re gonna mess with them, you’ll mess with me.” Brighton said. OH MY GOSH, WHAT? Did Grandpa really just tell Nikolas off? And did Nikolas really just wet himself from fear? That was awesome! Well, except for whoever’s doing the laundry.
So, with in law issues, wild teen parties, and the house almost becoming a Senior Citizen center, what will happen next time on the Timbersons?
